It’s difficult to believe that we’re well into 2019 already, but there you go! Before we leave January behind us, we thought it would be a nice opportunity to pause for a moment and take stock of some interesting developments here at Trulife from 2018. So, here’s a whistle-stop tour………
Yes it’s ‘Tru’ (sorry – we couldn’t resist that one!!) – it is now six decades since the foundations of the current organisation were laid down by the truly wonderful innovator Walter Kausch, and we made sure to celebrate in style with a party that connected all our teams rigth across the world. Some of whom were lucky enough to scoop a diamond to mark our diamond anniversary.
Walter was ahead of the game and he developed the first ever commercially produced external breast prosthesis in Michigan, growing the business further until Irish entrepreneur Noel Murphy later acquired the business in 1987.
Since then, the business has expanded through the success of its range of products, which are now distributed across more than 100 different countries, and through the acquisition of a number of equally progressive businesses. Trulife now operates across several different sectors that include medical, aerospace, manufacturing…..
We’re extremely proud of our fine heritage and the commitment our team has shown to quality, healthcare and innovation. Onward and upward – here’s to the next 60 years; although we’re not quite sure what stone marks a 120th anniversary!
As a truly global business, of course we put a high value on the presentation of the online Trulife brand, on making our products visible to our extended community and on reaching new markets. So, in 2018 we prioritised investment in digital marketing to optimise the marketing spend. Working with our digital partners at www.inspiration.ie, our first project involved an upgrading to the “look and feel” of our corporate site www.trulife.com. We feel that this site is now more reflective of the scale of the organisation, the highlights the depth of the product range along with the scope of our capabilities.
Following this, we went back to our roots and developed a new site to showcase the most up to date options available to people who might benefit from a custom breast prosthesis. We believe that the new Radiant Impressions website truly reflects the ethos of the business and the ‘Find a Retailer‘ functionality has been an extremely useful feature for our clients and retailers alike.
As the year drew to a close, we were thrilled to go live with the new Trulife Engineered Solutions website – the Pacific Northwest’s leading provider of contract assembly, quick-turn and production machining services. That business is already seeing a significant number of high quality leads coming through the site and we look forward to more of the same during the coming months.
In 2018 we also saw advance in our pressure care product range. The new TruCare range is an ideal solution for low mobility patients such as wheelchair users, relieving the issues that can arise with pressure points developing from contact with uncomfortable surfaces. Hard surfaces are a well-documented cause of pressure injuries and wearable pressure care can make a big difference. Check out the TruCare range as well as the full Pressurecare range now.
Stop Pressure Ulcer Day (SPUD)
During 2018 we were also delighted supported Stop Pressure Ulcer Day (SPUD) which is promoted by the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel. We continue to work on a variety of both industry and community initiatives to help highlight this unnecessary, harmful and distressing patient outcome that can be tackled through best practice prevention techniques and solutions like the Pressurecare range by Trulife.
Stop Pressure Ulcer Day is something that we feel extremely passionate about here at Trulife. Every year the medical community comes together to promote a worldwide pressure injury prevention day and for the last number of years we have done our bit helping to raise awareness of the issue. In 2018 we highlighted the problem by wearing our “SPUD” t-shirts at our stand at the Medica tradshow.
SPUD will take place again on 21st November 2019 – learn how you or your organisation can get behind in this great cause and make a real difference.
In 2018 our team were out and about at a several of key industry events across the globe where we meet up with our fabulous customers and made a load new and exciting connections.
Our Trulife team will be back out on the road again in 2019 – here’s a few of the events we’ve currently got in the diary:
REHACARE, Dusseldorf, Germany, 18-21 September 2019 (Representative Attending)
Medica, Dusseldorf, Germany, 18-21 November 2019 (Exhibitor)
